In the early 1930s, church services were held in schools in the area. In 1945, Rev. Rae Allan started holding services every third Sunday. A church board was formed in 1946. A church lot was purchased in 1949 and a building was purchased from Jim Smith of the Crocken Hill district, with a grant from the United Lutheran Mission. A loan from the Home Mission Board enabled the church to be completed.

The church was dedicated in November 1950 by Mr. M.M. McMillan, lay minister of Smeaton, assisted by Rev. Rae Allan and Rev. H. Clarke of White Fox.  In 1956, the church front was erected.  A manse was purchased and the minister moved from Smeaton.

In 1966, the Snowden congregation amalgamated with Choiceland. In 1971, Choiceland and White Fox churches amalgamated and became known as Torch River Pastoral Charge.

The minister moved to White Fox and the Choiceland manse was sold.  In 2000, the Torch River Pastoral Charge joined with Nipawin-Codette Pastoral Charge under the title of "Bridging Waters".  Two services were held in Choiceland each month. The first year, 2000, Rev. Prince Conteh served as minister.  A year later, he was joined by Rev. Shelly Manley-Tannis.

Many dedicated members and ministers served our church over the years until June 25, 2017 when we officially closed. We were a small congregation but we treasured our fellowship and the opportunity to worship in our own community.
